Oyster ports
The oyster ports of the Arcachon Basin are a true immersion in the authenticity of the region. These colorful oyster huts, dotted around the various ports around the basin, are emblematic places where oyster farmers raise, harvest and sell their oysters. Each shack is a meeting point with local traditions and an ideal place to discover the Arcachon basin through its maritime flavors. Come and taste the oysters directly in the huts, accompanied by clams, shrimps, periwinkles, whelks and a small glass of white or rosé wine, right on the water’s edge. Wine and food
The Arcachon basin is also renowned for its wines and gastronomy, particularly Bordeaux wines, a veritable institution in the Gironde. All around Bordeaux, you can visit the vineyards of the Bordeaux region, from the Médoc, Côtes de Blaye and Côtes de Bourg, to the right bank of the Garonne with the medieval village of St Émilion.
Wine tours depart from Bordeaux to taste the Gironde’s finest grape varieties at prestigious wine estates. These escapades are an excellent way to discover the Arcachon Basin from another angle, while savoring local delicacies.

Markets
The markets of the Arcachon basin are an ideal place to discover the region and its fresh local produce. You’ll find a wide range of local produce, from seafood to vegetables and cheeses. In Arès, the market is held on Tuesday mornings at Place A. Weiss, just 500 meters from our campsite, offering a great opportunity to discover local specialities. In Andernos-les-Bains, the Friday morning market is another excellent place to stroll and sample local produce. In summer, the covered market at Cap-Ferret also offers fresh produce every day, at times to suit holidaymakers.

- Andernos-les-Bains: Friday morning, Place du 14 juillet, open-air market; in July and August, every morning: covered market (opposite the post office); 10-minute bike ride.
- Cap-Ferret: mid-June to mid-September, daily from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm; rest of the year, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm and from March, Sundays from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.
- Arcachon: July and August, daily, 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Place des Marquises
