If you’re staying at Camping Pasteur in Arès, you’re ideally placed to start your walking or cycling adventure. Our campsite on the Arcachon basin, in the heart of nature, allows you to set off straight away to discover the varied landscapes that surround the region. Just a stone’s throw from the campsite, you have access to a network of well-maintained cycle paths and footpaths that cross the Atlantic Coast, pine forests and picturesque villages of the Arcachon Basin. These walks offer a unique way to discover the Arcachon Basin, while enjoying the tranquility and beauty of this unspoilt region.

The cycle paths of the Arcachon basin offer a variety of routes accessible to all levels. Whether you’re an experienced cyclist or a beginner, you’ll find a route to suit you:
This famous cycle route runs along the Atlantic coast and crosses the Arcachon basin. You can easily reach the famous Dune du Pilat, an impressive site not to be missed, while pedaling along the water and magnificent landscapes.
For the more adventurous, the complete tour of the Arcachon Basin is a real challenge. This 80 km circuit will take you through the various communes of the basin, its beaches, ports and nature reserves. You can even take a break in small towns like Arcachon or Andernos-les-Bains to savor a delicious local specialty.
Around Arès, you can enjoy a number of routes through the heart of the pine forest. The pure air and tranquility of nature make these routes perfect for a relaxing stroll. The Atlantic Ocean beach of Le Grand Crohot is just 12 km from the campsite.
Cycling is the ideal way to get around the basin. The network of cycle paths is well-developed, safe and well signposted.
