Oyster aquaculture port
Ares is a village rooted in the oyster farming tradition. Its port perfectly reflects the values of oyster farming in the Arcachon Basin.

The city centre and its market
Located 300 metres from the campsite, the city centre offers all the necessary amenities.
The market takes place on Tuesdays.
Local producers offer you quality products.
The beach
The beach is rocked by the rhythm of the tides. Every day the arcachon basin changes its face. The waterfront walks at sunset will delight everyone. It offers a panoramic view from the Cap Ferret peninsula to Arcachon via the famous Bird Island.
Activities
The Nautical club of Arès, located 300 metres from the campsite, welcomes young and old alike to discover the joys of sailing on a wonderful lake. Many events accessible to all are organised all summer long (regattas, catamarans, water sports festivals, concerts...) which makes it an essential place in the village.
Cap Ferret Kite School, based at the Nautical club of Arès, offers kitesurfing lessons for everyone on the best spots of the basin. In addition, a kitesurfing area is located in front of the Nautical club and provides quite a challenge when the coastal wind strengthens. The club also offers Paddle Board rental.
Tennis courts, football field, street football and basketball are available. Some canoe tours departing from the oyster farm port are organized to discover the local fauna and flora.
During summer, the Cap 33 association offers sports and wellness activities, orienteering, gym lessons, hiking, beach volleyball and all kinds of tournaments. Anyone can find its own fitting activity !
